In 1995 Topps Comics finished off their ghastly use of Jason with the final insult......a three issue crossover with Jason and Leatherface, from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.
Though I approve of the concept, TOPPS blew it big time when it came to the actual story...
In the story Crystal Lake is drained and it's contents, including Jason, are shipped away. Jason manages to escape and ends up joining the cannibal family from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. The final confrontation between Jason and Leatherface happens in issue three and is a bit on the short side. In the end Jason is hammered in the head and thrown in a lake. He escapes and heads back to where Crystal Lake used to be.
The storyline caters more to TCM fans since it mostly deals with how the family deals with this odd but kindred stranger. Also, it is obvious that the writer was not an F13 fan because of mistakes she made in regards to known facts about Jason. For instance, anyone who has ever seen an F13 movie knows Jason's mother was not named Doris.
The artwork is the best of the TOPPS series, which isn't saying much...Though.
